Agencies lose clients over poor communication, not poor work. A portal each client can check answers that before it becomes a problem.
The agency problem
Why agency client communication scales badly
At 3 clients, weekly status emails are manageable. At 10, you're writing 10 variations of the same message every Friday. At 20, it's a part-time job.
The other problem: every account manager at your agency has their own approach. One emails updates. One uses Slack. One shares a Notion doc. Clients get different experiences depending on who handles their account. That inconsistency signals that your agency doesn't have a process.
A branded portal is how you standardize that. Every client gets the same professional experience. Every update goes in the same place. Your agency looks like a studio that has its act together, because it does.
One portal per client, under your brand
Every client gets their own portal with their project history, files, and updates. Pro removes ClientDesk branding. Business adds your own domain.
Multiple projects per client
A retainer client running three campaigns gets three projects in their portal, each with separate progress tracking. Everything in one place.
Consistent client experience across accounts
Every client gets the same onboarding: one link, bookmark it, check it when you need to. Your agency's process — not your account manager's personal preference.
Clients check. They stop emailing.
When clients have a place to look, they look there first. The 'what's the status?' calls drop. Your team spends that time on work instead.
Agency plans
What each plan includes
Most small agencies (5-15 clients) run on Pro or Business. Business is the one that gets you unlimited clients and a custom domain.
Business is the right plan for agencies that want every client to see a branded experience with no trace of third-party tools.

Testimonials
What agencies say
4 clients onboarded in one afternoon“I was emailing Dropbox links and hoping clients found the right file. Set up ClientDesk in 10 minutes, moved 4 active clients over that afternoon, and my first client said it looked 'really professional.' Haven't sent a file over email since.”
Cut status emails by 80%“My clients used to email me 3-4 times a week asking 'what's the status?' Now they check the portal themselves. I tracked it for a month and went from 12 status update emails per week down to 1 or 2. That's hours I get back every week.”
Switched from Dubsado in 15 minutes“I tried Dubsado and HoneyBook before this. Both wanted me to learn a whole CRM just to share project files. ClientDesk does the portal part and does it well. I was up and running in under 15 minutes with white-label branding.”
Zero login friction for clients“The magic link is genius. I have clients who can barely open a PDF, so asking them to create an account was never going to work. Now I send one link and they see everything: files, progress, messages. No login issues at all.”
FAQ
Agency questions
Can my clients tell they're using ClientDesk?
On Pro ($12/mo) and Business ($29/mo), no. Remove all ClientDesk branding and replace it with your logo and colors. On Business, add your own domain so the portal lives at portal.youragency.com. Clients see your brand only.
How many clients can I manage?
Free plan covers 1 client. Pro covers up to 10. Business is unlimited. Most agencies running 10+ active clients are on Business at $29/mo.
Can multiple team members at my agency manage client portals?
Currently each ClientDesk account is managed by one user. Account sharing works in practice — agencies often use a shared account manager login. Multi-seat team accounts are on the roadmap.
How do clients access their portal?
Each client gets a permanent portal link. They bookmark it and check it whenever they need to see project status, download files, or send a message. No login required — magic link authentication means one click and they're in.
Can I have multiple projects per client?
Yes. Each client can have multiple projects with separate progress tracking, files, and notes. A retainer client with three active campaigns can have three projects, all visible in their portal.
Does ClientDesk integrate with project management tools we already use?
Not with direct integrations right now. Most agencies update ClientDesk separately — it takes 30 seconds per project and serves a different purpose. Your internal PM tool tracks tasks for your team. ClientDesk shows clients the view they need, not raw task lists.
